St Helens Waste Recycling

Sustainability is at the heart of our operations, so we support you with hassle-free St Helens waste recycling.  We aim to divert 100% of the rubbish we collect away from landfill, recycling it back into useful and reusable resources.

Our St Helens waste collection routes are planned to be as fuel-efficient as possible. Our fleet of vehicles can handle multiple waste streams at once, and adhere to the strict Euro 5 and Euro 6 engine emissions standards.

Furthermore, we have invested in a Forest Carbon initiative, and have partnered with furniture and food recycling charities to do more for the environment and those in need.

By using Fresh Start, you too can benefit from these sustainable initiatives and pass the word on to your customers, improving your green credentials and your reputation.

Simpler Recycling – St Helens

On 31st March 2025 Simpler Recycling Laws came into effect. All businesses with 10 or more full time equivalent employees must segregate their waste streams at source. This is to allow for easier and more efficient recycling. Schools, hospitals and commercial enterprises must all comply with these updated laws and separate the following waste:

Plastic, glass, metal (cans, tins and foil), cartons & tetrapaks, paper and cardboard, and food waste.

Businesses with less than 10 employees are advised to separate any materials but will not be subject to the legislation until March 2027.

Fresh Start can ensure you are totally compliant with Simpler Recycling rules and regulations, supporting you with waste management and sustainability for your company in St Helens. We have already won two prestigious awards for our work on Simpler Recycling, including an International Green Apple Award for our Simpler Recycling for Schools campaign.
