In 2018 we joined forces with Forest Carbon, accredited by the Woodland Carbon Code to grow forestation on 13.5 acres of land dedicated to Fresh Start Waste Services. This planting scheme saw over 7,500 trees planted which, once mature, will offset 2,125 tonnes of carbon emissions.
The project Fresh Start support is based North Westative woodland at The Gangway, Penrith, Cumbria.
Whilst carbon mitigation is worthwhile endeavour, we feel all businesses operating HGV vehicles have a responsibility to the environment to make more direct changes to the way we operate in order to reduce our footprint.
That’s why we have invested in a Euro 6 compliant greener fleet of vehicles. This includes split body vehicles which allow us to collect multiple waste streams in one journey; less fuel, less cost, less carbon.
