Cardboard Recycling Services from Fresh Start

With more businesses trying to reduce their plastic production, cardboard has become the go-to packaging material. This has led to a surge in both cardboard and paper waste, with lots going to landfill unnecessarily.

But cardboard and paper are one of the easiest materials to recycle. We can deliver recycling containers for all of your cardboard and paper waste, and organise collection up to five times a week, ensuring we recycle as much as possible.

We help small offices who need cardboard waste disposal every couple of weeks to large businesses that need regular bulk collections.

We provide:

  • Colour-coded containers for easy segregation
  • Regular collections, with a 99% attendance rate
  • A zero-to-landfill pledge that means we recycle as much as possible

How Does Cardboard Recycling Collection Work?

First, one of our dedicated Commercial Development Managers will perform a free audit of your site, check your current recycling processes, and devise a bespoke solution that works for you, no matter the volume of cardboard you’re generating.

Once this is complete, we can work out how many containers you need, as well as the type that will work best for your business. We may also discuss baler requirements for compacting large volumes of cardboard.

Then, we can start the waste cardboard collection process, sticking to your bespoke schedule.

We have state-of-the-art Material Recovery Facilities in Swinton, where our hard-working team sorts and grades the waste cardboard that comes in every day ready for it to be recycled.

We divert approximately 3,200 tonnes of cardboard and paper away from landfill each year, with 100% of it destined for paper mills and a new life as recycled paper, packaging, fresh boxes, or even converted into energy as ethanol fuel. Absolutely zero waste goes to waste in this closed loop system.

Why Should You Invest in Cardboard Recycling?

Recycling cardboard doesn’t just keep your site or office tidy. It can reduce your company’s carbon footprint and, when combined with our other services, can save your business money. You can save on waste disposal fees and lower your Landfill Tax bill.

We help our clients dispose of their excess cardboard, whether it’s loose or baled, with frequent and convenient visits on set days each week.

You’ll also be conforming to the Simpler Recycling legislation.

Our Cardboard Waste Recycling Containers

We have a huge range of containers designed for businesses like yours, from simple refuse sacks and lockable front end loaders to compaction equipment and balers for those with heavier recycling requirements.

Our cardboard recycling business services are currently available in Greater Manchester, Lancashire, Cheshire, Merseyside, and across the Midlands. Any paper and cardboard is collected by our modern fleet of 30 waste wagons, which criss-cross the region five days a week. As you’d expect, they all comply with the stringent Euro 5 and Euro 6 emission standards, meaning they’re among the cleanest large vehicles on the roads today.

Simpler Recycling

In 2025, the government introduced the Simpler Recycling laws, which state any businesses with 10 or more full-time employees must segregate their waste at the source. This means businesses must manage their own waste and separate it into the right containers for easy collection and recycling.

It applies to the following types of waste:

Businesses that should comply with these laws include schools, hospitals, commercial enterprises, offices, charities, care homes, cinemas, gyms, cafes, restaurants, hotels, and more. Companies with fewer than 10 employees aren’t subject to the legislation until March 2027.

Our aim is to help businesses stay compliant with easy-to-use systems that make recycling simple. We can support you with business cardboard recycling to make your organisation as sustainable as possible. In fact, we’ve won two awards for our work on Simpler Recycling, including an International Green Apple Award for our Simpler Recycling for Schools campaign.

Do I need separate containers for paper and cardboard recycling?

bullet
