We have been supporting businesses to better manage waste since 2005. With 7000 customers in the North West, we understand the challenges involved for every sector.

Charitable businesses face the same waste disposal needs as any other business, with the added problem of unsellable items, excess stock and potentially hazardous waste.

Our sustainable, cost-effective and local solutions make it easy to responsibly clear charity sector waste, produced from both standard business operations and any donated goods.

Meet environmental targets and maintain total compliance by becoming a Fresh Start partner today.

Waste Management for the Charity Sector

We have a range of waste management solutions to make your charity waste disposal fast and simple. Whether general office waste or food recycling, we can help.

We’ll talk to you about your waste streams and volumes, and how you currently manage waste. Then we’ll create a bespoke plan to improve on your existing service.

Following delivery of your new bins, we will arrange regular collections as little or often as needed, with local teams in your area up to 7 days a week.

We’ll advise on how to reduce your waste output in the first instance. Everything else will be responsibly and genuinely recycled. Our bins make segregating at source easy and efficient.

What Happens to Charity Waste?

We really do recycle your waste. Once we’ve completed your charity waste collection, we send everything to our dedicated materials recovery centre in Swinton. All mixed waste passes through the facility and is sorted to separate all recyclable materials.

Plastic from unusable toys, metal from broken appliances, soiled textiles, and even old batteries will all be processed.

Anything that cannot be reused or recycled will be sent to a waste-to-energy plant. For us, this is a last resort, and we are committed to making sure as much waste as possible is repurposed, supporting a circular economy and a greener future for all.

Watch our video to see how real recycling happens at our Swinton-based site.

Charity Waste Disposal Bins

We provide a full range of containers to handle charity sector waste, from simple recycling bins for use at retail units to larger bins for warehouses.

Our colour-coded wheelie bins make it easy to segregate your waste types. Choose standard wheelie bins or larger Eurobins.

Designed for large amounts of waste, our FEL skips have an enclosed lid to stop dirt, rain or wildlife from getting in.

Use our commercial skip hire service for one off clearances or as part of ongoing charity projects or events.

Hazardous Waste

All companies produce hazardous waste, and the charity sector can receive donations that could be dangerous. Exposed wires, old lithium batteries and even nail varnish need to be handled carefully by a licensed waste carrier.

Helping To End Food and Furniture Poverty

As well as our efforts in creating a more sustainable future, we also work with a number of charitable organisations. Our partnership with Bulky Bobs means that unwanted furniture gets a new lease of life and helps to end furniture poverty.

Similarly, we support The Trussell Trust who endeavour to end food poverty with food banks across the UK.
