Fresh Start Waste Services is proud to mark eight years of continued support for Coffee4Craig, a vital Manchester-based charity that provides essential services to people experiencing homelessness. Since 2016, Fresh Start has provided free waste collections, helping the charity focus its resources where they’re needed most – supporting those living on the streets.
To date, this long-standing partnership has delivered over £20,000 in savings for Coffee4Craig, which runs evening drop-ins, provides hot meals, showers, clean clothes, and support referrals for Manchester’s rough sleeper community.
Fresh Start’s waste collection services help the charity keep its city-centre base clean, compliant, and welcoming, allowing the team to focus on their frontline work instead of waste management logistics or costs.
Nicola McGrath, CEO at Fresh Start Waste Services, said:
“We’ve been incredibly proud to support Coffee4Craig for the past eight years. They do remarkable work under incredibly challenging circumstances, and we’re committed to doing our part to help—however we can. Free waste collections are a simple but meaningful way for us to give back.”
Coffee4Craig was founded in memory of Craig White, who passed away on the streets in 2013. Today, the charity continues to expand its reach, offering warmth, dignity, and support to some of Manchester’s most vulnerable residents.
Hendrix Lancaster, CEO of Coffee4Craig, said:
“Fresh Start has been with us since the early days. Their continued support means we can direct more of our funding into helping people—not bin collections. That kind of consistent, practical help is absolutely priceless for a charity like ours. When you’re operating on tight margins and every pound counts toward providing meals, showers, and support to Manchester’s homeless community, having partners like Fresh Start who understand our mission and remove operational burdens is genuinely life changing. It’s partnerships like this that allow us to focus on what we do best—being there for people when they need us most.”
Over £20,000 of free waste collections has provided the equivalent of over 4,000 hot meals, desserts and a brew – 4,000 people fed!!
Fresh Start Waste is committed to community partnerships and corporate social responsibility, working with a number of charities, schools, and not-for-profit organisations across the North West to help create cleaner, greener, and more supportive places to live and work.
