After 18 months of careful growing, shampooing, conditioning, brushing, and the occasional dramatic hair flip, Fresh Start Waste Services’ Commercial Manager, Owen McCaw, has finally had the big chop — all in the name of charity.
What began as a “let’s see how long this can go” challenge slowly turned into a full-blown hair commitment. But when the blow-drying, styling, and teasing from colleagues became too much to handle, Owen decided it was time to say goodbye to his flowing locks — and donate them to the Little Princess Trust, raising over £500 in the process!
“After a year and a half of fighting with a hairdryer and a few too many bad hair days, I thought it was time,” said Owen. “At least this way, my hair can do some good for someone who really deserves it.”
The Little Princess Trust creates and donates real-hair wigs to children and young people who have lost their hair through cancer treatment and other conditions. Owen’s donation — and his fundraising – will go directly toward helping them continue this incredible work.
