Fresh Start Waste provide a skip hire service for use at home or your business. Our recycling focus means we will sort through the items you place in your skip and reuse or recycle as much of it as possible to minimise the environmental impact of your waste.

What types of rubbish can I put in a skip?

Our award-winning service is one you can rely on, and if you have any queries at all about what you can and cannot place in your skip, we will be right on hand to help.

Some of the more common items you are allowed to place in a skip:

  • Wood
  • Soil
  • Rubble
  • Polystyrene
  • Plastic
  • Metal
  • Garden waste (leaves, clippings, etc.)

  • Food and food packaging
  • Fittings (non-electrical)

How much will it cost?

We offer both short-term and long-term skip hire options but we promise that the price you see is the price you pay, with no hidden charges.

Where can you not place a skip?

A skip cannot be placed:

  • on a road where there are double yellow lines
  • within 25 metres (approx 80ft) of traffic signals
  • within 15 metres (approx 50ft) of a road junction
  • in the controlled area of a pedestrian crossing
  • on the brow of a hill
  • on the yellow zigzags in front of a school, ambulance or fire station
  • at or near a bus stop
  • on a trunk road
  • where there is a parking restriction
  • where the road is less than 4.5 metres (15ft) wide
  • on a bend
  • on a clearway

Can I arrange a fixed date for delivery or time period to keep my skip?

Yes – and we do not charge rental for short term hire lasting up to two weeks.

What happens to the waste I put in the skip?

Our fully compliant disposal service delivered directly to your door just when you need it. We can provide you with a Waste Transfer Note which is a legal document showing you have chosen to work with a compliant waste disposal company when you chose Fresh Start Waste.
