End Furniture Poverty
At Fresh Start we like to create win-win scenarios. Rather than simply recycling unwanted household items, we find new homes for them through our work with Bulky Bobs, a social enterprise with a mission to 'End Furniture Poverty'

Who Are Bulky Bob’s?
Bulky Bob’s are a social enterprise with a vision is of a society where people can obtain good quality, affordable furniture without experiencing the devastating impacts of furniture poverty – no bed to sleep on or unmanageable debts.
Their mission is to reduce and ultimately eradicate furniture poverty. They campaign to raise awareness of furniture poverty and create practical solutions to get furniture to people who need it. Their work also helps create sustainable employment and better futures for people.
Bulky Bob’s was created in 2000 by FRC Group, a Liverpool and Manchester social enterprise and charity.

How Does Fresh Start Help?
Fresh Start Waste work with thousands of businesses across the region, many of whom have furniture items which are being replaced but are in excellent condition, fit for reuse. Bulky Bob’s provide an outlet for these items to be cleaned, basic repairs made, and passed onto families most in need across Liverpool and Manchester.
As part of our commitment to moving our customer’s up the waste hierarchy, working with Bulky Bob’s means essential furniture items they no longer require can be put to good use and help someone in desperate need of furniture.
