Fresh Start Waste announces partnership with Too Good Too Go

Fresh Start Waste Services has announced a new partnership with the world’s largest surplus food app, Too Good To Go, to help its customers tackle food waste.

Leading the food waste movement, Too Good To Go lets people buy surplus food and drink from hotels, restaurants, grocery stores, pubs and producers to stop it from going to waste. Consumers simply download the free Too Good To Go app and search for nearby businesses with unsold produce. They then purchase a ‘Magic Bag’, collect it at an allotted time and enjoy it. Over 20, 000 businesses across the UK have already signed up to the app such as Costa Coffee, Greggs, Caffè Nero, Morrisons, Planet Organic, LEON, Pret a Manger and thousands more local independents.

As one of the North West’s leading independent commercial waste management companies, Fresh Start Waste Services is committed to reducing the environmental impact of its operations.

Through this new partnership, Fresh Start Waste Services will be actively encouraging its customers to use Too Good To Go in conjunction with their services, in a bid to ensure that edible food is moved up the supply chain and never has to end up as waste. With the company’s ethos grounded in sustainability, the aim is that this partnership will prevent more unnecessary food being thrown away and reduce the environmental impact of food waste overall.

Sean Martins, Commercial Manager of Fresh Start Waste Services said:

“Working in waste management, you get used to seeing some weird and wonderful things that people throw away . But we never get used to seeing the amount of edible food and raw ingredients that land in either in our food recycling bins, or worse still in general waste bins. Fresh Start is one of the most widely used collectors in the hospitality sector, and together with Too Good To Go our mutual goals offer tremendous synergies. We are excited to see what we can achieve together, and we are “Ready To Fight Food Waste”

Paschalis Loucaides, UK Managing Director, Too Good To Go adds: “We’re pleased to be partnering with Fresh Start Waste Services to help even more food businesses in the local area tackle food waste. Food waste accounts for 10% of all greenhouse gas emissions and so reducing the amount of food we throw away is  vital if we’re to protect our planet. I can’t wait to see the impact we can make together through this collaboration.”
