We are delighted that we could continue our mission to reduce the impact of waste on the environment, support our local communities and look after our staff and customers in what has been another turbulent year.

As a carbon conscious company, we are constantly innovating to minimise the environmental impact of our customer’s waste and our operations to achieve a sustainable waste management solution, through waste reduction, reuse and recycling.   

In 2021 we have continued to invest in equipment, operational technology, and carbon-efficient vehicles to minimise our carbon impact and maximise the efficiency of our service. We have also increased our recycling levels and achieved our zero to landfill pledge, all whilst ensuring our waste is processed right here in the Northwest, further minimising carbon impact whilst supporting the local economy.

We always endeavour to maximise the social value we create through supporting various charitable initiatives which help those most in need in our communities. We have expanded this to support many fantastic causes this year and are proud of the positive impact this has had.

This year we started working in partnership with Bulky Bob’s, a charity with a mission to End Furniture Poverty. They look to reuse and recycle any essential furniture items which may have previously been placed in a skip.

We also began our ongoing pledge to support Hospitality Action who are a charity supporting hospitality workers through challenging times. For every new hospitality customer who chooses us for their waste collection services, we give an additional donation directly to the charity to support the industry, who have been badly affected by the pandemic.

Close to our hearts has always been minimising food waste so this year, following a gruelling coast to coast bike ride, our very own Commercial Director took part in a fundraising challenge.  We partnered up to support The Trussell Trust who in turn support a network of food banks and help those living in food poverty.

We could not do any of this without the hard work and dedication of our wonderful staff, and the loyalty of our fantastic customers.

Recognising the challenges all waste collectors have faced this year during the national HGV driver shortage, we have addressed this in the following ways: –

  • Reviewed our Drivers package.
  • Introduction of a self-funded driver apprenticeship programme.
  • Purchase of smaller 7.5 tonne vehicle providing recovery assistance when required.  The use of this smaller wagon means drivers do not require the full Class 2 license.

Our customers benefit from all the above as they know they have chosen to collaborate with a company that cares about its staff, customers, the environment, and the wider community with a steadfast commitment to waste reduction and recycling without compromising on service.

We are excited about the innovations and plans to further our pledge of providing the best Carbon Conscious Waste Management service in the Northwest in 2022.
