As the North West’s leading independent waste collector, Fresh Start Waste Services lead by example with the arrival of yet another compaction vehicle.

Named after the daughter of our Customer Service Manager, this brand new Volvo Farid boasts of the latest Euro 6 engine, meaning less harmful pollutants are being emitted into the atmosphere, which as a company that has a Social and Environmental conscience, is pleasing.

Paul Southwell, Transport Manager reported;

“In selecting the trade waste vehicle, we looked at critical factors such as safety, service locations, durability, fitness for purpose, cost and fuel economy. In our evaluation we felt the Volvo provided us with a robust product to ensure our customers receive the best possible service. We are very pleased with the wagon, as to is the driver”.

Frankie Martha will be operating within the heart of Manchester, where Fresh Start Waste Services provides waste and recycling collections across a large concentration of customers, ranging from small offices to large, high profile, high volume waste producers that require a waste service which is able to flex in order to meet the peaks and trofs of their business needs.

Not only is the new waste collection vehicle bringing efficiency and reliability to the North West, meaning service levels can be met and exceeded, Fresh Start are also supporting GMCA Low Emission Strategy and Air Quality Action Plan.

With the introduction of the new vehicle, this will mean an older vehicle can be retired, again reducing Fresh Start’s Carbon Footprint. Fresh Start currently operates 7 vehicles that hold of the Euro 6 engine, with an 8th due to arrive in a few weeks time. With the continuous upgrades on the Operating fleet, the average age of the vehicles stands at around 3 years.
